More About Me:
I caught the travel and music bugs when I was a child, have never bothered trying to shake them, and can often be found drumming my fingers loudly against bus windows in faraway lands while listening to my Ipod.
Having started my career as a news journalist writing for Scottish national newspapers The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday, I branched into features after tiring of death knocks and drawn-out local authority meetings.
After leaving the UK for Dubai in 2008 I worked as editor of Time Out’s Middle East destination guides and have continued on a similarly exotic path consequently – penning numerous travel features from a London base, then going the whole hog and relocating to South East Asia at the start of 2010.
Working in Asia is an endless pleasure and I never tire of meeting and interviewing some of the characters I encounter here, checking out new dining venues and guiding a motorbike through perilous traffic.
